To make simply:
Add 2-3 tbsp of oil to a large saucepan over a moderate heat.
Once the oil is hot, add in enough kernels to cover the bottom of the pan and cover with a lid.
Shake the saucpan frequently to stop the popcorn from burning.
Once the popping subside, pour it into a bowl and sprinkle with salt or melted butter.
